Competing in the Show is open to residents living in Three Rivers District Council area.
The Schedule refers to a list of categories or classes. Some classes have detailed information available in order to assist you with presenting your entries.
Below are listed the different categories of entries ( Vegetables, Dahlias, Domestic etc). By clicking on the down arrow on the right, you will be able to open some of the entry items giving exhibition tips and showing photos from a previous show. NOT ALL CATEGORIES or ENTRY ITEMS HAVE LINKS.

Harold Barton cup - Most points in Novice Flower and Vegetable Category
This category is aimed at new exhibitors to this or other shows. You can enter as many of these classes as you like and if you accumulate enough points (3 points for Ist; 2 points for 2nd; 1 point for 3rd) you may win The Harold Barton Cup. Once you have won the cup, you cannot enter this category again. However, if you do enter this category, there is noting to stop you entering the general Vegetable and Cut Flowers categories as well.

Wards Nurseries cup - most points in Dahlia
For classes 72-77 and 79 we advise you to use the exhibition vases (bikinis) available on the morning of the Show. Please provide your own material, other than oasis, to hold your flower stems in place

A group of at least four in one or more pots.
At least four varieties in a container other than a pot.

Gordon Grant cup - most points in Handicrafts
Items should have been made by the exhibitor since last year's show, or not have been previously exhibited.

Entries must be the work of the exhibitor and not previously shown here or in any other show. Enter unmounted prints, with a min. size 6"/15.2cm x 4"/10.2cm and max. 7"/17.8cm x 5"/12.7cm (includes border). Any sizes within these limits accepted.
Where relevant and for the interest of the general public, please indicate on your entry form where the picture was taken.
Please write age of child at time of show on entry form and, to avoid disappointment, please do not exceed the sizes recommended on the class descriptions. NO NUTS PLEASE.

Judged on its originality as well as its design. Scarecrow 40cm (max height and width), to stand in a 25cm pot.
Croxley Hardware Potato Bucket trophy (class 152).
In the springtime fill a bucket (16 litre max) with compost and some seed potatoes. Make holes in bottom for drainage. Tend to the bucket until the Show. You bring the bucket to the show on the morning of the Show. At 3.30 the children empty the buckets in the playground. The bucket with the heaviest harvest of potatoes wins first prize.

In the springtime we can give all participants a bucket with your name on it. Alternatively, you can provide your own bucket no larger than 16 litres. Fill your bucket with compost and plant some seed potatoes in it. Let your potatoes grow through the spring and summer. You bring the bucket to The Show on the morning of 14 September. At 3.30 the children empty the buckets in the playground. The bucket with the heaviest harvest of potatoes wins the trophy.
Most cups are decided on accumulation of points won by the exhibitors. So, the more classes you enter in each category, the more points you are likely to accumulate thus increasing your chances of winning an award.
