TROPHIES: CUPS AND MEDALS
***Most cups are decided on accumulation of points won by the exhibitors ( 1st: 3 points; 2nd : 2 points; 3rd: 1 point) ***
So, the more classes you enter in each category, the more points you are likely to accumulate thus increasing your chances of winning a cup.
Cups are engraved with the winner's name and returned to the committee after one year.
The George Ricketts cup is awarded for accumulation of points across a number of categories- most points in
Vegetable, Fruit and Flower classes 1-29 and 46-81
All the other cups are listed in italics in the schedule.
MEDALS
There are 7 medals awarded which are engraved with the winner's name and retained by the winner:
Doug Flint Best Vegetable exhibit medal - Vegetable classes 1-29
Best Fruit exhibit medal - Fruit classes 46-50
Roy Davis Best Flower exhibit medal - Flower classes 51-81
Best Handicraft exhibit medal - Handicraft classes 88-101
Best Bakes exhibit medal - Bake classes 115 - 128 (excluding 119)
Best Photograph medal - Photography classes 135-142
RHS Banksian medal - most points in Vegetable, Fruit and Flower classes 1-29 and 46-81, Winners in previous two years not eligible: They are Pat Hiscock, Denise Flowers
