Leeks

Leeks

Leeks.

3 are required.

Leeks should be uniform in length, in good condition, firm and compact throughout the length of the barrel, with no bulbous swellings at the base and with a good uniform blanch. Avoid excessive stripping of outer leaves.

Place specimens, in collections, vertically on a black board. Bind in the leaves to an appropriate length. In other classes lie flat on the show bench with the roots to the front, neatly teased out and cleaned. (Do not let the water run between the leaves to leave unsightly soil particles.)
